By submitting your interest you agree to the following: Audition Rules - Auditions are taught at an advanced level. - Our auditions are closed, no spectators are allowed at any time. - Cellphones are not to be used throughout auditions. This includes filming yourself, choreographers, or other dancers. General Information - Bring your own drink bottle, snacks, and sweat towel. - Any valuable items you bring into the studio are your own responsibility. - Dancers may be filmed or photographed during auditions. Content may be used for promotional purposes by SPACE. Team Commitments - Dancers selected for teams ages 9–13 will compete throughout the New Zealand North Island, including Wellington Nationals. - Dancers selected for teams ages 14–17 must be able to travel internationally to Arizona, USA from 25 July – 1 August. - Dancers accepted on Contemporary teams will be competing throughout the New Zealand North Island. - Dancers based in the Tauranga region are required to attend an open class weekly in addition to their weekly team schedule. - Dancers based outside of Tauranga are only required to attend weekly team rehearsals, intensives, and competitions. - Due to the nature of SPACE teams, trainings, and content confidentiality, successful dancers cannot compete on other studio teams regardless of style or age group. - Dancers successful on SPACE teams cannot teach, choreograph, or mentor other studio competition teams (school teams are exempt). Attendance - Consistent attendance at all rehearsals, open classes, and intensives is required. - All absences must be communicated in advance. - Attendance at all intensives and additional trainings outside of term sessions is compulsory. - Repeated absences may result in removal from the team at the discretion of the directors. Financial Commitments - Families are responsible for all associated costs, including travel, uniforms, entry fees, training, and team expenses. - Fees are non-refundable once committed. - Withdrawal mid-season does not exempt families from covering outstanding or agreed-upon costs. Professional Standards - Dancers are expected to uphold professional behaviour at all times, respecting choreographers, teachers, and teammates. Key Training Dates – Mandatory Attendance Required - January Intensives: 6–18 January - April Intensives: 2–19 April - June/July Intensives: 22 June – 12 July Auditions are free.
